WILDERWOMEN’S MISSION STATEMENT
Create a movement of women who empower one another, protect the environment, and embrace the wild within and without.
OUR REASON FOR BEING
Wilderwomen was born out of two women with the same dream; build a community of women who empower one another outdoors. Whether you’re seeking yoga, a get away, a tribe, an outdoor adventure, or just some time in nature, Wilderwomen has it all. We host meet-ups and outdoor retreats in the picturesque PNW paradise that include daily yoga, gourmet meals, outdoor adventures, hot spring soaks, glamping and more! We are building a community of women (and men, and partners, and those who don’t opt to define themselves by a gender) who feel confident in their skin and in their technical outdoor abilities, a tribe of humans who deeply care about the environment and each other, and a collection of outdoor enthusiasts and weekend warriors who are excited to get after it in the outdoors.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, adventure has never been far from my back door. My childhood wasn’t easy but nature was my sanctuary, and as I grew older it became my therapy, my passion, and then my profession.
Working in the outdoor industry I witnessed a huge disparity between men and women who adventured outside and it lit a fire in me that never went out. I knew I wanted to create a community of outdoor women who not only to crush it in extreme sports and have way too much fun doing so, but who also deeply care about other women and the environment. Wilderwomen was born out of a desire to create a lady tribe and has now erupted into a movement of women empowering women as they embrace the wild within and the wild with out.
When I’m not giving into wanderlust and traveling, you can find me SUPing the waters of Washington, snowboarding in the Cascades or Rocky Mountains, biking all the dirt and concrete, climbing everything I can get my hands on, and photographing all the beauty this life has to offer.
I only seek to leave this world a little better than I found it and to live a life that tells a great story.
Explorer, Photographer, Wild Woman, my name is Jess Brown.
I live a life to empower others to doubt their doubts, exceed their expectations, and expand their community. I was born, raised, and schooled in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up with a passion for athletics and created some of my fondest memories in the great outdoors. I love living where the mountains and ocean converge and cannot seem to leave my home for long.
I teach yoga, lead teacher trainings, and manage a studio in an effort to create a community of engaged individuals who use moving their physical bodies to access their minds. My larger mission is to share yoga with the world; that every person knows yoga is for every body, every mind, to meet them exactly where they are at, and open the path to where they are meant to be.
In sharing my passion for yoga against the backdrop of the great outdoors, I hope to create an open space for people to show up and be free to be themselves.
Yogi, organizer extraordinaire, empathic, my name is Kate Faoro Wright.
